Privacy Policy

Effective July 23, 2026 · This notice is available in accessible formats on request.

Who we are

Maverix Private Equity, together with its general partner entities, management companies, affiliates and the investment funds it manages (“Maverix”, “we” or “us”), is a Toronto-based growth equity firm. This notice explains, in plain language, how we handle personal information — information about an identifiable individual. This notice applies to personal information belonging to investors and their representatives, job candidates, individuals at companies we evaluate or invest in, business contacts, event participants, and visitors to our website and social media channels. If you are an investor, the subscription documents for your fund identify the specific Maverix entities responsible for your personal information.

What we collect

Depending on your relationship with us, we may collect: contact details and identification information, including copies of government-issued identification to verify identity; banking and account details needed to make or receive payments; financial and investment information connected to a fund interest, such as commitment amounts and tax information; employment-related information for job candidates, including background check information obtained with consent from third-party screening services; professional information about individuals at companies we evaluate, including compliance risk assessments; business contact information and relationship notes; event information, including dietary restrictions and photographs; and content or social media account information when you interact with us on social media. We collect information directly from you wherever possible, and otherwise from your authorized representatives, our fund administrator, third-party background screening providers such as Mintz Global Screening (for job candidates) and Kroll or LSEG, devices you use to interact with us, and publicly available sources. We will never ask you to send identification documents or banking details by open, unsecured email.

Our website uses cookies and similar analytics tools to collect and share information with service providers, including Google Analytics to measure how visitors use our site, Google Global Site Tag to place, personalize and measure the effectiveness of ads, and Demandbase to understand how visitors reach our site. You can customize or reject these tools through your browser settings, and you can learn more about how Google uses information here, and how to adjust your browser settings to opt out of Google Analytics here.

Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to administer investments in our funds (subscriptions, capital calls, distributions, reporting and tax matters); meet legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering, sanctions and tax reporting requirements; manage recruitment; evaluate, execute and manage investments; develop, analyze, promote and manage our business and relationships; host events; communicate with you; manage our risks; and to operate and secure our systems and website.

We may ask you for additional consent to use personal information for other reasons. We may use personal information for automated decision-making (such as to keep our website secure) but will notify you if we use automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Who we share it with

We never sell personal information. We share it only as needed with: our fund administrator, Pinnacle Fund Services, which processes investor information on our instructions and performs anti-money-laundering checks on our behalf; our legal counsel, auditors, tax advisors and valuators; compliance consultants; information technology and cloud service providers that support our systems; our lender and banks or payment processors to make payments; our funds’ limited partners and their advisors, where fund documents or law require; co-investors and financing sources in connection with a transaction, under confidentiality undertakings; service providers bound by contract to protect your information; and regulators, tax authorities and other public bodies where the law requires disclosure, including authorities outside your home jurisdiction.

Where it is stored and how it is protected

Personal information is stored on secured, access-controlled systems, encrypted in transit and at rest, and located in Canada wherever feasible. Where information is transferred to another country — for example, to the United States for business operations or for legally required tax reporting — we use contractual and other safeguards to ensure comparable protection. Information in another jurisdiction may be subject to lawful access by authorities there.

We have internal processes to minimize the collection and storage of personal information, to protect it from unauthorized access, to respond to privacy breaches, complaints and access requests, and to train employees on their privacy obligations.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above and to meet legal, regulatory, tax and audit retention requirements, after which it is securely destroyed or irreversibly de-identified.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent (which may affect our ability to maintain the relationship where processing is legally required), or ask us to delete it or restrict how we use it. Residents of certain jurisdictions may have additional statutory rights. To protect you, we verify identity before acting on a request. Reasonable requests are handled at no cost, but we will notify you if a processing fee will be charged. If we can’t fulfill a request, we will explain the reasons. You will never face retaliation for exercising a privacy right.
