Ken’s focus is on next generation technology and the impact that it will have on various industries.  Ken is a futurist who has deep expertise on the 4th generation of new technologies that will disrupt the industry sectors that Maverix Private Equity will focus on.   

Ken has spent his career in the technology industry, working with some the world’s leading organizations.  Ken has spent time as the General Manager of Microsoft Network of Canada, where he was involved in bringing Hotmail to Microsoft.  Other roles include executive level roles at Rogers as the Vice President of Development and research in emergent systems for banking and insurance.   

Ken is an active and past board member at companies including Kobo, Xanadu, Atomic Reach, Synbiota, Agora Mobile, Synaptop, SKULogix, docSpace, Chapters Online, OpenCola and several others. 

Known for his innovation and visionary thinking, Ken is an active investor specializing in research and development, software engineering and business strategy. He is the CEO of private investment and R&D firm iBinary LLC.  Ken is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Association for Computing Machinery.  The IEEE is a professional association for electronic engineering and electrical engineering and is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.  The Association for Computing Machinery is a US-based international learned society for computing.  ACM brings together computing educators, researchers, and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources, and address the field's challenges. As the world’s largest computing society, ACM strengthens the profession's collective voice through strong leadership, promotion of the highest standards, and recognition of technical excellence. ACM supports the professional growth of its members by providing opportunities for life‐long learning, career development, and professional networking.  ACM and is actively engaged in philanthropy focused on early education needs. 

Ken is also Fellow at the Creative Destruction Lab a start-up program helping technology-based companies scale rapidly by pairing them with some of Canada's top entrepreneurs.
