Associate Partner, Finance

Anya is Associate Partner, Finance at Maverix Private Equity, where she spearheads the firm’s corporate finance and fund administration functions. Leveraging her nearly 20 years experience in the field and a keen interest in innovation and technology, Anya is focused on advancing Maverix’s dynamic growth trajectory.

Previously, Anya served as CFO of a private credit firm, where, as a founding team member, she built the finance and operations infrastructure from the ground up and played a key role on the executive committee.

Prior to that, she headed finance at two mid-sized Canadian businesses, overseeing financial strategy, reporting, taxation, treasury, HR and payroll, regulatory relations, and ERP system implementations. Her experience also includes roles in banking risk and controls at HSBC and in regulatory audit with a national securities regulator.

Anya earned her CPA, CA designation while at PwC, where she focused exclusively on asset management clients within the assurance practice and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto. Anya is a trained fine artist and pursues oil painting as a creative outlet, having once architected a full-scale fine art investment fund infrastructure as a study in fine art as an asset class.

Outside of work, she enjoys cycling and running, often alongside her husband and two sons. A longtime cyclist with the Ride to Conquer Cancer, Anya also leads a local running club.

She actively gives back through leadership roles including Treasurer of a local school, Scout leader with Scouts Canada, Advisory Board member of the CFO Leadership Council, and a CPA mentor.
